What is Dansday

People often ask me where the handle dansday comes from. My real name is Akbar Yudhanto, so the leap to dansday is not exactly obvious at first glance. It is a mix of local nicknames, random inspiration, and a commitment to showing up every day.

Growing up, people in my neighborhood and inner circle rarely called me Akbar. Instead, they defaulted to calling me Danto. Over time, even Danto felt too long for casual conversation, so my friends started shortening it. I would constantly hear people shouting out, hey Dans! The nickname stuck, and Dans became my default identity offline.

When it came time to pick a unified username for my digital life, I wanted something unique. Around that time, I was following an Instagram creator who went by the handle hanzday. He shared incredible city landscape photography, and I really liked the ring of his username. It felt personal but still worked perfectly as an online identity. I decided to take my nickname, Dans, and combine it with that same concept.

That is exactly how dansday was born.

It quickly became my universal username for literally everything. Whether I am playing a game, hanging out on Discord, pushing code to GitHub, or posting on social media, you will find me under that exact handle. It started as a clever naming trick but quickly evolved into my core brand.

At its core, dansday simply means the daily life of Dans. It is a reminder of my own routine and the things I build, learn, and experience day by day. Honestly, that literal translation is the exact reason why I try to keep posting and building things every single day. It is my day, documented.
